FRED SIMON: 65 years old. Married, 2 children, 6 grandchildren. Retired two years ago. Moved out of urban NJ to a small farm in upstate NY last fall. Felt the Lord wanted a Catholic community of families centered around the Eucharist and attending TLM. That community now exists and is growing.
Worked most of my career in Facilities Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Berkeley College in NJ. I am well versed in all the building trades. Also worked five years for the Newark Archdiocese while McCarrick was Archbishop in the 1990’s. Served as Director of Employment Services there and created a curriculum for a Building Trades program which received NJ State funding. Ran multiple programs for disabled clients residing in Newark and surrounding disadvantaged towns. Established a hands-on work study and employment program for Refugee Resettlement clients from around the world.
Cradle Catholic, was active in Youth Ministry, CCD, Confirmation preparation, Marriage preparation (Pre-Cana), Charismatic Renewal , served as Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Acolyte for TLM. Reverted to TLM about ten years ago.
Currently renovating my house and farm in Sharon Springs. Building a greenhouse and preparing to plant garden (from seeds) and receive some livestock. Also working on a Catholic Land Movement Conference to be held here in Sharon Springs this August.
